Wes Vick

Wes Vick is a Competitor.  Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Wes was an avid soccer and hockey player, spending all of his time outside of school either on the field or on the ice. After a 2003 motor vehicle accident which left him a paraplegic, Wes felt a void in his life and wanted to get back into competitive sport.  After a few years of trying various para-sports such as basketball and sledge hockey, Wes attended a para-athletics ‘try it’ camp and was hooked.

Training twice a day, six times a week, and, under the guidance of Ueli Albert, Wes has competed in multiple Canadian and International track meets, pushed in both the prestigious Boston and New York marathons and in the spring of 2014, ranked in the top 10 T53 athletes in the world after a successful stint at the IPC Grand Prix in Nottwill, Switzerland.

Wes currently resides in Toronto with his partner Sophia and their chocolate Labrador, Trap, and has his sights set on competing in the 2015 Para Pan Am games in his hometown of Toronto and the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
