Trevor Seyforth

Hello my name is Trevor Seyforth I am 25 years old. I was born in Kentville Nova Scotia and I was born with a disability called Cerebral palsy which affects both my legs. When I was younger I had a hard time getting around, running and jumping was really hard. I've had two surgeries, one when I was 6 years old one when I was 14 years old and if I didn't have those I would have been in a wheelchair today. I really enjoy playing sports but was never able to participate properly  in school because I had a hard time keeping up with the other kids. In 2011 I started going to the gym and I met a lot of people and trainers that helped me push harder and defy my limits. I started to enjoy working out and soon after that I started doing crossfit. Working out has helped be able to walk and run more efficiently as well as learning to do things like box jumps and cleans with confidence. In 2013 I met a Paralympic athlete named Ben Brown,  soon after that  I  learned about what he did and fell in love with it. I started training in the Paralympic sports doing shotput and discus. I have now started to do wheelchair racing and have been training as hard as possible. I expect to break my own limits and not let my disability take control of my body to be able to go as far as possible. I am now training for the Canada games in 2017 and plan to prepare myself enough to win golds.
